A glucose stock added as the carbon source to SOC and M9 media. Filter-sterilise it.

Steps
- Dissolve glucose in about 70% of the final volume of water (gentle warming helps).
- Bring to the final volume with water.
- Filter-sterilise through 0.22 µm (do not autoclave).
Good to know
- With glucose monohydrate (MW 198.17) use 220 g/L.
- Autoclaving can caramelise it, so filtering is better.

How much goes into 1 L SOC?
SOC needs 20 mM, i.e. 18 mL of the 20% stock.
