One row = one subject (animal or patient). Event column: 1 = the event (death, relapse…) happened, 0 = no event by the end or lost to follow-up (censored). "dead/alive" and "yes/no" are also understood. Without a group column everything is treated as one group.

What does "censored" mean?The subject was still alive when the study ended, or could no longer be followed for another reason. We only know "no event up to this time", so it leaves the calculation after that point. On the graph it is shown as a small vertical tick (|) on the curve. Turning censored subjects into deaths — or deleting them — biases the result.
